Saturday 22 January 2011, Antwerp, Belgium – Natalie meets Anastacia
After a short night with a four hours sleep, our plane started at 06.10 am from Geneva in direction to Belgium. After an hour we arrived – dead tired. We went by train to Antwerp, where the concert was held in the Sportpalais. A beautiful Venue. The anticipation was huge besides all the tiredness! Around 10.30 am we finally arrived in Antwerp, and once again we gave up our luggage at the hotel. Shortly after we met with the Dutch Annie at Starbucks cafe, right next to the train station. Coincidentally, we met there also to the two German fans Nati and Nina. A few hours relaxing and having fun with fans. Only the subsequent sushi meal, we could have left. Sushi is definitely not my case …!
At 3.00 pm we startes our way to the Sportpalais. We went to the backstage entrance and were hoping to see Anastacia … and in fact we were lucky! About two hours later drove her car and stopped. Our nickname, we know now … “The Chocolate Bunnies”
. After the meeting, were all filled up with adrenaline. Well, the four hours to the concert flew in a flash.
Then, at 20.20 the last people filled the Sportpalais and took their places, Natalia the stage. Natalia flew from the top on stage and opened the concert with the sentence: “All you sexy ladies.” This was followed by classics such as “Paid My Dues” (Natalia & Anastacia) or “I Want You Back” (Natalia & Anastacia). Natalia and Anastacia were supported in their performances by an excellent band including three background singers. Some familiar faces from the heavy rotation tour were on stage too.
The audience was stirred and left out at the same time. The voices of two women in perfect harmony with each other. Especially with songs like the classic “Hallelujah” they were able to prove it once again. I liked the song ‘Risin’ best, where Natalia and Anastacia showed what they have to offer vocally.
After three hours of excellent entertainment, the the audience ended upmin a ’standing ovation’. Natalia came back on stage and sang the third last song “Still With Me,” another beautiful ballad. After the unrelenting applause Anastacia also came on stage and together they sang the hit “Im Outta Love” by Anastacia. Only shortly before midnight, the two ended the three-hour concert with “Glamorous” and a few touching words. Unfortunately, each concert comes to an end ..
Back in the hotel room, we talked with the two German fans, Nati and Nina, who also stayed at the same hotel. At 02.00 am then they said good night. We already had to get up at 05.00 am to catch the train back to the airport … OUFF! Back in Switzerland, was back to reality. Now, I am looking forward to the next concert!
